PORTFOLIO DVELOPMENT: This class is for people interested in getting into Concept Design, Visual Development, and College application portfolios. In a gallery setting, classes will consist of drawing from figure and costume models. We will also draw from films from time to time to learn about visual composition and story telling. In this course students are encouraged to express their creativity in as many ways as possible. Each week, different illustration styles are examined for inspiration. Students will produce exaggerated character designs that can be used as concepts for future animations, 3D models, graphic novel ideas and gallery work. Students will work from life, with nude and costumed models, with different themes in mind. This course focuses less on making perfect drawings and more on giving students an open arena to explore and learn to love drawing while broadening creative ideation and output. The Mahoney/GODO Portfolio Development class will start September 25th and run Sundays from 1pm to 4pm. 10 classes at $350 per student for a 10 week term, beginning September 25th.
